Maria Harvey
As EVP of Business Operations for Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment, Maria Harvey works with the revenue, digital, content, marketing, distribution and operations teams to ensure the company meets its business objectives and revenue targets. In her role, Maria facilitates the execution and timely completion of business-critical projects and initiatives that require cross-departmental collaboration, including streamlining processes and implementing synergies.
Ms. Harvey began her accounting and finance career in audit at Deloitte, before transitioning to private industry, with a focus on turnarounds and new ventures. Over the last two decades, as Chief Financial Officer for multiple successful start-ups and mid-sized companies, she’s been heavily involved in operations, in addition to cash forecasting, preparing financial projections, and creating scalable infrastructure to prepare for future growth.
As CFO, Ms. Harvey applied her strategic and tactical skills to entities in SaaS and manufacturing, before joining the media industry in 2011. As CFO of the Katz Networks (now the Scripps Networks), Maria helped launch a profitable portfolio of over-the-air and streaming digital networks, with brands including Bounce, Grit, Escape, Laff, Court TV and Brown Sugar (an SVOD). Her work grew the company from start-up to market leader in an entirely new category of TV networks. This success led to the E.W. Scripps company acquiring the Katz Networks in 2017, which was the second major exit that Ms. Harvey has helped orchestrate during her career.
